Beauty and knowledge

Once I read an idea in a novel.
It went something like this: When looking at stars, an astronomer won't have more pleasure from it than anyone else.
Or more generally said: your knowledge doesn't affect your sense of beauty.
And with this I don't agree. For example when I didn't know much about flowers, a meadow was for me just a lot of grass. Now I know more and I know what to look for and where to find what. This is one of reasons why I want to learn more about flowers - to enjoy more the beauty.
Any ideas about this?
