Beginning of my new science internship

Today I went for the first time to the solid state matter physics institute. I was expecting just a small detached institute, but what I found was a big complex. My internship is with Mr. Fejfar.
Contrastingly to my internship with Mr. Farnik, where I mostly learned and watched, here I am actually supposed to do something on my own...and what more, to write a paper on it afterwards and eventually to present it somewhere...
When I asked what exactly is being done by him, he gave me some four articles, two of them in English. There are some twelve students (but college students) there in the department, so he is probably trying to make them as independent as possible. However he seemed rather surprise when I read it and was quite able to reproduce the content, as if I understood it...That was quite satisfying :-)
I probably won't be going there every week, as I did the last internship, but on the other hand I'll have more work at home.
