Vacations 2010, part 4

Still participating at a workcamp in Seix, France.
Some remarks:
  • Seen artificial flowers in a graveyard. Seems somewhat hypocritical to me...
  • Having sold books for Secours Populaire - a NGO, kind of a second-hand shop; but the profit goes to achieve various charitative goals. The products sold are given by people (and there is surprisingly lot of it; we are apparently living in an era, when some goods have almost no worth... (clothes, books, kitchen equipment, shoes...)
  • For the first time hitchhiked at night - to see a concert of Superbus in St Girons; they say it's a pretty famous band (at least in France).
  • Hiking in Pyrenees, seen the snow and a mountain lake
  • Korean people drink from PET bottles differently thean mosgt Europeans do.
  • in France: no sweet food as a main meal (except for breakfast; compare to Czech Republic - zemlovka, fruit-filled dumplings, bramborove sisky, various porridges...)
  • Canoeing for the first time; pretty absurd, it happened in France, while it is so popular in CZ. Yeah, but liked it.
  • We were visited by the workcamp association coordinator for Midi-Pyrenees and also by a "controller" from French Ministry of Youth (one of supporters of the worcamp association). Pretty interesting to talk to him. By the way - he said, workcamps in France are endangered by lack of propagation (people in the village don't know the worcamp takes place).
