I read the book, Marketa Lazarova, from Vladislav Vancura.
We had it as homework for our Literature lesson.
It's about a noble's daughter, Marketa, who falls in love with a bandit.
The only thing interesting in this short novel is perhaps the language. Though the author lived in 20th century, he writes very archaically, though it can be interesting. If you like it, fine, if not, you'll be even more disappointed. Why? In my opinion the novel itself, its plot and so, it's just boring. Maybe you'll have a different opinion, but for me, it's just another ordinary novel, that I have to read for the Literature.
