Dancing...and polka

Today, before going to the course, I talked to one acquaintance of mine. He told me that, when going to the dance school, his parents made a deal with him - that he'd have presence at least 75%. You see, he didn't enjoy it much, so he tried to cheat even this. It seems a lot of people in our course don't have not even the 75% deal. I don't complain, I can use more space for sure.
I was dancing with Lan and for a while with Eva. It wasn't any Eva I would know, no. She was telling me just at the beginning she had no troubles at all with the dances. After more inquiring, I got to know she attended belly dancing courses and also a courses of sport dancing (she told me they practiced just figures - as for group exhibitions, but still). I feel she really has no need of these courses. Also, she had a lot of endurance and while I was absolutely exhausted after the dance (having foolishly attempted to make her a good...sufficient... partner), there was no hint of any tiredness or perhaps sweating.
We were presented some really basics of Viennese waltz - just those derived from the common waltz. Then we learned a new turn in blues - when both partners turn. Ok for me.
Then we started to learn polka. Now that's a challenge... During the lesson, I didn't even get to understand, after, when I was thinking about it a bit, I discovered at least some way how to do it. I have to try it. Hope that Kriza (or anyone else) will help.
We got a lecture about chewing gums. Contrary to what I expected, it was, ok discouraged, but not prohibited. It's just that it is not good to chew too demonstratively.
We got a paper listing our prolonged lessons (prodlouzena??) and balls. The first prolonged lesson is on 25th November. It'll take place in Lucerna. For us, the course trainees, it costs 150Kc, for other possible dancing fans, it's 170 Kc. Anyone? It could be fun ;-)
