Today, our dance lesson was "civil". It should mean we weren't clothed formally, but casually. We were to take clothes as if going to a disco. Well, not a common case for me, I took the clothes I liked. This is kind of weird in the dance schools - as far as I know it's not done in other dance schools and even here it's relatively new - the people who'd been attending it some three years ago hadn't passed through this.
My brother came today as Lan's "chaperon". At first he was looking sceptically, but then he seemed to enjoy the crazy dancing.
Apart from Lan, I danced with Jarka. We were moaning about the prolonged lesson - specifically about the conditions in Lucerna (overcrowding - has leg was still sore from being repeatedly stepped on -, temperature, bad air). She told me she went to Gymnazium Ohradni. Then she was very concentrated when learning salsa. And then there was polka. She just warned that she hoped I could dance polka - she apparently had had some experience with guys who couldn't. But after few beginning mistakes, it was fine :-) After, brother told me polka seemed as one of the most difficult dances.
This was also the occasion to learn dances not usually taught. We still started quite "normally" - we learned basics of samba and then of salsa. In salsa when one loses the rhythm, all is lost :-(
Then there were the basics of rock'n'roll. And then twist. These two were just too much for me. I'll have to try it later.
The last was the chicken dance - funny funny funny :-)
Overall today's lesson was very quick-paced, maybe too much - consider it, five new dances...
We were told the winter ball is going to be at the Congress center, at 2 halls - one dedicated to classic dances, one to latin and "alternative". I'm curious.
At last we were already presented with the possibility to go to the advanced courses (in Spring). Meldath had said, he'd like the basic courses, but rather not the following (I hope I don't misquote him). On the other hand, he was going to another dancing school.
