The prolonged dance lesson

Today, it was the prolonged lesson of the Hes' dance school. It took place in Lucerna. I went there with my grandma Partially because of this, it rather resembled a ball. I'm really curious, how the "real" ball of the dance school is going to look like.
There are six groups of our basic courses (that means several hundred people). Furthermore a lot of people from outside came (not counting chaperons), including a great lot from my school. Even those of them, who are actually attending special courses, though they usually danced with someone they brought along.
Lucerna was reportedly sold out. Our maturita ball is going to take place in Lucerna and I'm already beginning to worry how are we going to fit into. Today, it was so filled it was very very difficult to dance without restricting oneself. There is also very very bad air, as the building is old, it's in the basement and there isn't air conditioning.
In the beginning, I wasn't able to find Lan (and Lenka, with her brother), so I danced with certain Lucka. She herself admitted she hadn't been paying too much attention to practicing and I was trying to teach her something during the dance. She went to Gymnazium U Libenskeho zamku - as my father had :-) She also told me, our course (Z1, those of Monday afternoon) were considered the best by our teachers and that they had spoken about us the best.
Besides dancing, there were several exhibition. One was made by competitive classic dancers - reportedly third ones in the Czech Republic - splendid.
Then some three were shown by Latin dancers; also competing, but not in the classic dancing. It was more "alternative". I had just a little common with the classic Latin dance they should have been dancing. Rather, they were improvising on the dance - it was impressive, though maybe too ..rough to my liking.
The last exhibition was the hip hop. It was led by one Brazilian (but other than him, it was a Czech group). How contrasting :-) Hip hop dancers in Lucerna in mas o menos casual clothes, among all the formal clothed people. Some were frowning on that, but who cares? World is wonderful...and funny :-)
After a while I found Lan and started to dance with her. She is good and gradually getting better and better.
To my liking, there may have danced even a little bit more. There was also dancing with one's and relatives, yet neither me nor Lan had anyone to dance with - grandma stubbornly rejected my attempts to get her dancing - actually I understand it; she said she had danced the last time at my father's maturita ball. During this dancing, there was also the only polka - so we missed it. It was funny looking at some parents struggling with polka.
Then there was also a finale of the apple competition. Of the last three remaining couples, two were of our Z1 course. Of those, the couple having won was also the Z1 one. Funny the girl of the couple was Petra who I'd once danced with before - even then she'd been much better than me :-) Winners won cakes.
In the end, there were four more dances. Among others, there was cha cha for the fourth time; Lan was probably bored by all the chachas, so she was thinking out very unorthodox figure mixing. It was crazy, yet it was fun :-)
