Yesterday a few of us met in order to learn grammar, before our final grammar test. Don't know if the effect was good or not. No matter.
After, we wanted to go to Cross Club (a weird place for lecturing, I admit) for a lecture about Morocco. Aja, the main initiator didn't come after all, though we were unable to resolve her rather cryptic text messages till very late ;-) On the other hand, Kriza and Meldath decided to go there.
At first, there was a film about refugees coming to Europe, about their often bleak situation and about uncertainty as what to do with them here (and unwillingness to do anything).
Then, there was a photo presentation of a person who went backpacking to Morocco recently, with his girlfriend. I've been contemplating going to Morocco for a workcamp one day, so I was quite curious (apart from my general curiosity, if it would be worth it. Seems it could be :-) On the other hand I'm freak into traveling anyway, so I may not be the most objective observer possible... They were mostly hitchhiking - quite surprising, he mentioned they'd been discouraged from it - but then he mentioned it hadn't been really a problem.
The main language is Arabic and Berberic, but one can try to talk French and Spanish as well (and considering they had had just slight knowledge of Spanish and then English, it may not be such a trouble). People are reportedly very welcoming in there (oh yeah, that's the countryside...).
He also mentioned the ancient cities of Morocco.
