There was a dinner party of our dance school.
At first there was a lecture on etiquette, not just table manners, but etiquette in general. We don't really do this during the lessons (for which I'm grateful), so there we received condensed information. I'd known a lot of that before, also because of my father's advices; on the other hand, besides repeating, there were some new information as well and also some good stories :-)
So now, I'm knowledgeable about a whole lot of alcohol glasses (curiously, for water, there is just one type :-) I was also reminded about all that cutlery out there and eating of various weird meals. What was new for me - how to take food from bowls with a spoon and a fork - and then I even tried it out.
I wonder if I ever get in the social group, where I'd be using it intensively. Maybe I'll get on a few occasions like those, but I can barely imagine doing this regularly - but who knows, future is uncertain :-) After all, knowing something never harms (I believe so) and helps extending one's understanding of the world.
After we were allowed to eat all the food, but in fact, there wasn't that much of it. Also, there was a lot of us (true, not everyone came, but still). A lot of people didn't respect they should eat slowly and should not take too big servings...so...what enraged me most was that there was no dessert left for me ;-) Lan was also disappointed of ending up rather hungry. Oh well, who cares :-) At least it's a lesson for the dinner parties yet to come ;-)
