Lecture on China by a42

a42 was lecturing (or, as he put it, talking about) his voyage to China of last August. It took place in some headquarters of Sparta Praha, under the patronage of a club of traveling addicts :-) Never mind, the world is complicated.
It was for the first time I heard the whole (well, at least a significant part) story. It was very interesting for me, I'm interested in everything Chinese and I'm grateful for anything uprooting my naive ideas about the country. a42 is also an adventurous person, so his stories are most interesting and his style of speech is witty. Some recurring themes were food, pollution, the nature of Chinese people, contrasts and absurdities (from the European point of view) in general and monuments (though Chinese may not have appreciated them yet). I admire him he'd been able to travel there (along with some other people) most of time without anyone speaking Chinese. But it worked. Nevertheless, it once again reminded me I should push in my Chinese study.
