briefly:
El-Jadida
- a tourist place for Moroccans - actually just few Europeans here
- a nice Portuguese fortress
- it's interesting to see the contrasts in Morocco; there are some more conservative, there are some very liberal; it depends from one town to another (of course, Casablanca being very liberal, but the tourist resort of El-Jadida as well
- I slept outdoors, when I woke up, I saw a shepherd nearby; he looked a little bit surprised :-)
- a town of pottery; I visited the local pottery museum, very interesting; but even more so, the stalls of the local potters - wonderful work, I was very tempted to buy something, yet I would destroy it in the backpack
- I was invited for lunch to a Moroccan family - rather rich, rather liberal; tasted tajine, got a lot of information about Morocco and Moroccan style of life and seen a rather westernized Moroccans' (and there are more and more of them these days) house; still, there are a lot of differences to a "typical" European style of living; this stems also from that they have somewhat mistaken perception of Europe and Europeans (...oh, so many stereotypes, I've implicitly mentioned; but I hope, you get what I meant)
- two Portuguese fortresses; pity Moroccans don't care about the monuments more; this way, they will collapse sooner or later...
- Safi is not a typical tourist town, yet absurdly there were most people trying to beg from me (as from a "tourist")
- a night out; on a hill very close to the old medina; I slept very well :-)
