Just found a rather interesting page about Venn diagrams.
You may not be that fond about the graph theory remarks (though, it's interesting to read about the searching for the diagrams using exhaustive search by computers..),
but you'll definitely enjoy the p i c t u r e s :)

Wikipedia says 文氏图, (i.e. other transcription of Venn), although, the variant with 维恩, which you suggest, is mentioned there as well.
